AIS Wind Energy is a trusted partner to the wind energy sector, providing the expertise and resources needed to optimise wind farm performance and maximise wind power’s potential.
Our services span offloading and installing wind turbines to scheduled maintenance, servicing, major component replacement, and decommissioning – all of which require highly specialised equipment.
What makes AIS Wind Energy unique is our link to AIS Group. AIS Group specialises in supporting customers in challenging sectors and hazardous locations across the UK, Europe, and beyond. In addition to accessing their expertise, this gives our wind energy customers access to a wide-ranging, wholly-owned fleet of equipment designed to lift, move, install, and decommission large and heavy machinery, such as turbines and their components that tower over 100 metres high.
Key equipment includes heavy-duty cranes, essential for manoeuvring enormous turbine blades, nacelles, and tower sections into place. Accessing turbine parts requires specialist Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs). Specially-designed trucks and trailers are needed to transport these oversized loads, as turbine components are moved from manufacturing sites to often remote installation locations.
Spotlight on our flagship assets:
The LG1750 SX
The LG1750 offers fantastic versatility and retains the strength of modern crawler cranes while providing the flexibility afforded by the quick mobilisation of a conventional mobile crane.
The crane has a wide selection of boom configurations, including an SX boom system optimised for lifting wind turbine components, which can be tailored to suit most project demands and constraints. The powerful crane can lift 400t at a 20m radius and up to 105t at a 165m hook height and 34m radius on the SX configuration. The LG1750 can also operate within tight, restrictive sites while offering strength and capacity on a mobile chassis.
As the green energy sector grows, wind turbine OEMs install ever heavier and higher turbines. The LG1750’s height and radius capabilities provide the capacity to meet market requirements as they evolve and efficiently mobilise and demobilise turbines. It also helps to reduce transportation costs and carbon emissions compared with current crawler crane demobilisation.
The LTM1230
The LTM1230 has a maximum lifting capacity of 230 tonnes. It is long, powerful, and versatile, with a high lifting facility for great hoist heights.
Ideal for working with turbines, it can reach heights of over 110m, has a 75m telescopic boom and a 43m fixed jib for working with the boom fully raised, and has a great hook height.
The crane’s ECO drive technology also saves fuel and reduces noise using enhanced travel drive tuning.
Our turnkey wind turbine service is available for onshore wind farms or wind turbines throughout Europe and beyond. We support wind farm owners and operators, wind turbine manufacturers, and wind energy contractors.
